Vent clips from the gas station fail two ways: the phone slides off on the first pothole, or the charger cooks slow and the phone still dies by midnight. Meanwhile the cable across your lap is one more thing tangling around the shifter with a passenger watching. The front seat of a working car is a cockpit, and the factory gives it a cupholder.
This charger clips into the vent and holds the phone with a MagSafe snap at eye level, charging wirelessly at up to 15W (iPhones at 7.5W - it is not a Qi2 charger, and the page says so plainly).
